The JASPAR: Japan- Spain- Pakistan Archaeological Research is the international collaborative research initiative coordinated by NPO Japanese Centre for South Asian Cultural Heritage (JCSACH); Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Spain; Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Pakistan; and Centre for Documentation and Conservation of the Heritage of Sindh, Endowment Fund Trust for Preservation of the Heritage of Sindh (CDC-EFT), Pakistan. The JASPAR Initiative has organized under MoU between 4 parties. It aims 1) to develop academic and educational cooperation and to promote mutual understanding between Pakistan, Spain and Japan; and 2) to develop collaborative activities in the fields of archaeological studies and preservation of the cultural heritage of Sindh.

Currently JASPAR brings together three international research projects such as Cultural History of PaleoAsia (Scientific Reearch on Innovative Areas, MEXT Grant-in-Aid Project FY2016-2020), RAINDROPS (ERC-stg-2017), as well as ModAgrO, and the national-level research projects from SALU. JASPAR aims wider objectives in 1) Palaeoenvironment, 2) Archaeology, and 3) Ethnoarchaeology. It is started from the general survey of northern Sindh from the Thar desert to the eastaern foot of Kirthar Range in February 2018.

　JASPAR: 日本-スペイン-パキスタン考古学共同調査は、NPO法人南アジア文化遺産センター（JCSACH）、ポンペウ・ファブラ大学（PFU：スペイン）、シャー・アブドゥル・ラティーフ大学（SALU：パキスタン）、シンド文化遺産保存信託基金ドキュメンテーション・センター（CDC-EFT：パキスタン）の間で締結された協力協定（MoU）の下で、2018年2月より開始された国際共同プロジェクトです。本プロジェクトでは、1) 日本・スペイン・パキスタンの学術・教育上の協力と相互理解の促進、および2) パキスタン・シンド州における考古学と文化遺産保護の分野における共同事業の実施を目的としています。

　JASPARによるフィールド調査は、パレオアジア文化史学（文科省科研費学術新学術領域研究）、RAINDROPS（Resilience and Adaptation to Drylands: 乾燥地におけるレジリエンスと適応：ERC-Stg-2017）、ModAgrO（農耕の起源と発展のモデリング研究）の3つの国際研究プロジェクトと、SALUによるパキスタン国内の研究プロジェクトを合同するかたちで進められます。調査研究の対象は、a) 古環境研究、b) 考古学、c) 民族考古学（エスのアーケオロジー）と多岐にわたります。2018年2月には第1回目のフィールド調査として、タール砂漠からキールタル山地東麓にいたるシンド州北部の総合調査を実施しました。
